Wedding looks for 2026

Eight looks for the groom and his party, from the garden to the beach to a winter ballroom, and what this year's grooms are wearing.

Every wedding starts with the same question: how does the groom want to look? Here are the eight looks we put together most this year. Each one has a groom and a party, and each one works with the bride, not against her.

What grooms are wearing this year

  • A light jacket for the groom. Ivory, with black trousers and a black bow tie. It was the look at many of this year's big weddings.
  • The classic black tux, with one rich detail: a double-breasted jacket, a vest, or a peak lapel.
  • Almost no colour on the groom. The colour goes on the pocket square, and green, sage most of all, is this year's wedding colour.

1. The classic garden wedding

  • Groom: black tux with a peak lapel, a black vest, a silk bow tie, and his own new white shirt.
  • Party: black tux with a notch lapel and a black bow tie.
  • Colour: a sage pocket square on every man.

For a garden wedding that goes into the evening, the tux is still number one. Over before sunset? The same look works in a navy or light grey suit.

2. The ivory evening

  • Groom: ivory dinner jacket, black tux trousers, a black bow tie, black shoes.
  • Party: black tux.
  • Colour: pocket squares in the wedding colour.

He stands out in every photo, and he still matches the bride.

3. Midnight blue and sage

  • Groom: midnight blue tux with a black bow tie.
  • Party: black tux.
  • Colour: sage pocket squares.

Midnight blue looks rich at night and in the photos. He stands apart without wearing the theme colour.

4. The double-breasted groom

  • Groom: black double-breasted tux, satin peak lapels, a pleated tux shirt, a black silk bow tie, a white pocket square.
  • Party: black single-breasted tux.

The look several of this year's celebrity grooms chose. The double-breasted jacket sets him apart with no colour at all.

5. The three-piece

  • Groom: black tux with a vest, or a vest and suspenders.
  • Party: black tux with a cummerbund.
  • Colour: blush or sage pocket squares.

When the jacket comes off for the first dance, he still looks finished.

6. Winter velvet

  • Groom: black velvet dinner jacket with black tux trousers and a black bow tie.
  • Party: black tux.
  • Colour: wine pocket squares.

Velvet is for the holidays and winter. We also carry it in burgundy, blue and navy. Not for summer: it's a heavy cloth for the heat.

7. Beach or island

  • Groom: ivory lightweight suit.
  • Party: tan lightweight suits.
  • Colour: sage or the wedding colour on the pocket square.

On the sand, a tux is too heavy. Light cloth and light colours keep everyone cool and still dressed for a wedding.

8. Black tie in the ballroom

  • Groom: black tux with a shawl or peak lapel, studs and cufflinks.
  • Party: black tux, identical.
  • Colour: white or silver pocket squares.

For an evening wedding in a hall or a ballroom. Formal, simple, and right for the night.

The groom's second look

More couples hold a rehearsal dinner or a brunch the day after. A suit he buys, in grey or navy, gives him a second look for those, and he wears it again for years.

Bring the photos you saved and the bride. We start with the groom, then dress everyone around him.

Style tips.

  • The groom matches the bride, not the bridesmaids.
  • Keep the bow tie black. Put the colour on the pocket square.
  • One step above the party: a different lapel, a vest, or an ivory jacket.
  • Come in about 3 months before the wedding.
