A tailor's shop on South Broadway, and a family that kept it going.
In the Forchetti family since 1969.
Fit comes first.
Every rental is fitted in our shop, from our own stock, in about 30 minutes.
Our history.
- Early 1960s
Sam Marks, a custom tailor from Riverdale, opens a shop on South Broadway: custom suits and fabric for entertainers and businessmen.
- 1969
Nino Forchetti, a custom tailor too, buys the business.
- Early 1970s
Nino and his wife Francesca start the formal wear side: tuxedos to buy and to rent.
- 1980s
Tailors and fabric get expensive, so the shop brings in Italian ready-to-wear suits, trousers and sport coats.
- 1990s
The move to 718 Central Park Ave, and dress shirts from across Europe.
- 2000s
Made to measure: customers design their own suits, sport coats, trousers and shirts and pick the cloth.
- Today
Sportswear too: sweaters, casual trousers, jeans, shoes and sneakers. John, Robert and Gino run the shop.

Nino Forchetti buys the shop.
A custom tailor like Sam Marks before him, Nino took over the South Broadway shop and its custom suits.

Tuxedos to buy and to rent.
Nino and Francesca started the formal wear side. In this family wedding party, dressed by San Marko in the tuxedos of the time, they stand in the middle.

Nino and Francesca's sons run the shop today, and the family still does the fitting.
